This Bachelor’s degree programme provides students with the heightened literary, cultural, and linguistic skills required to be able to work in the fields of book publishing and the Digital Humanities.

The programme aims at producing graduates who are capable of entering the workforce immediately, because it enables them to understand the entrepreneurial aspects of book publishing besides developing the students’ awareness of the history and materiality of the book. Graduates are able to work in several sectors of the publishing industry, including digital publishing, in companies and institutions such as libraries and archives where they can apply their expertise in the organisation, management, digitisation, and enhancement of cultural heritage. Graduates may also find work in the field of literary publishing, both in national and international publishing houses.

Finally, in order to complete the degree, students are required to do an internship in qualified companies and institutions. Graduates are also able to pursue postgraduate studies, and, in particular, the Verona University Master’s Degrees in Publishing and Journalism, in Languages, Literatures and Digital Culture, and in Linguistics. Another career possibility is teaching in school, once the graduates have obtained their MA as well as the relevant national qualification.
