Examination Methods

Didactic Methods

Teaching methods consist of lectures dedicated to the introduction of the history of science philosophy to Kant; After an introduction to Galilei's work and thought, he will go through reading and commenting on the text of Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems. In this way, we will try to convey the basic notions of philosophy of science and, specifically, about Galileo's thought, as well as critical tools for understanding and addressing the problematic issues of modern science.
Each lesson will be recorded in WMA format and, together with all the material analysed during the course, will be punctually loaded on the e-learning platform of the University with the aim of easing the study for both attending students and those who can not attend lectures.
During the academic year, an individual consultation service is also available at the teacher's study, at the times indicated on the web pages and readily updated.

Examination arrangements

The assessment of the learning outcomes of the fundamental concepts of the philosophy of science in its historical development up to Kant. It will also be required to clarify some of the moments of Galileo's historical events in relation to his thinking in general, as well as comment on some of the steps outlined in the Dialogue Concerning the Two Chief World Systems.
This will be done through an oral test of the program being performed. This test will consist of questions to test the students' critical-argumentative ability, textual exegesis, conceptual clarity and the acquisition of an adequate philosophical vocabulary.
The grades are expressed in thirtieths.
The examination is the same for both attending students and non-attending ones.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE
