Foundations and Teaching of Ancient History (2017/2018)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
Training the future teacher to read critically the phenomena of the past is an important resource for the self-planning the lessons and must combine the achievement of knowledge and the acquisition of a historical method of understanding. The period covered by the lessons, as required by the National Guidelines, begins from the early prehistoric societies, from ancient civilizations to the Greek colonization and the process of unification of the Mediterranean by the constitution of the Roman Empire to the spread of Christianity.
Program
A presentation of crucial ages and issues in ancient Mediterranean history, from the interethnic, social, geographical and cultural perspective in the broadest sense.
Methodological aspects in historical knowledge and methodological approaches in transfer of knowledge into teaching practice. Reading with comments of texts, ancient and modern, useful to train the future teachers to grasp the problems of understanding and reconstructing historical contexts. Some care is devoted to addressing the future teachers to the best and up to date editorial resources.
