Learning outcomes

Teaching aims to provide useful skills and skills to those who want to get involved in a professional environment linked to analysis, historical-critical interpretation, and the promotion of cultural phenomena related to the media medium and its history.
Specifically, the course aims to provide the students with the main historiographic, theoretical and methodological tools related to the analysis of film and film, and to present the application of specific models for the description and interpretation of the film.

Program

The art cinema of the sixties.
After a brief introduction to the history of cinema and the analysis of the film, the course will focus on some case studies of what was one of the most brilliant moments of our cinema, or the sixties. Michelangelo Antonioni, Federico Fellini, Bernardo Bertolucci, Marco Ferreri, Pier Paolo Pasolini and Marco Bellocchio intercept the malaise of a society in transformation and recount the alienation of individuals unable to maintain an authentic relationship with others and their own desires. The film analysis methodology will be applied to works such as Accattone, Dillinger è morto, La dolce vita, Il gattopardo, L'avventura, I pugni in tasca and others.

Examination Methods

WRITTEN EXAMINATION. The exam will test not only the ability to analyze the film text, but also the quality of written argumentation.The written test intends to verify that the student has improved his / her knowledge, skills, critical sensitivity, judgmental autonomy, and written expression skills in the field of analysis and research related to film history.
