Learning outcomes

Acquisition of the basic legal knowledge and forensic background necessary for the practice of the profession of biotechnologist in the modern social context. Acquisition of basic knowledge of the modern technological approach in the forensic biomedical investigation.

- The lawfulness and ethical justification of the health care
- Professional secrecy
- The information to the Judicial Authority

- Crimes against life and personal safety and integrity
- Profiles of civil and criminal liability in healthcare
- Compensation of damages to the person
- The social insurance system
- Elements of ethics and deontology

FORENSIC TOXICOLOGY
- forensic toxicology: general aspects
- biological matrices which can be used in forensic toxicology: analytical and interpretative aspects;
- pre-analytical treatment of biological samples
- Liquid and Gas Chromatography: theoretical and application aspects
- Detection techniques: UV, UV-Vis, fluorescence, mass spectrometry
- validation of analytical methods
