Academic calendar
The academic calendar shows the deadlines and scheduled events that are relevant to students, teaching and technical-administrative staff of the University. Public holidays and University closures are also indicated. The academic year normally begins on 1 October each year and ends on 30 September of the following year.

Legal, bioethic and deontological principles of professional practice (2019/2020)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The general aim of the course is to provide to the students the theoretical instruments for understanding the legal aspects, the ethical principles, and the relational dynamics which should be the base of their professional behaviour in the relationship with the patients, the colleagues, the physicians and the employer leadership.
In particular, the teaching will be focused on providing the legal, ethical, occupational medical and relational tools in order to develop an autonomous, competent and responsible skills suitable for facing the new aspects coming from the technical and legislative advancements, as well as the changes of relational dynamics.
Program
The contents of the teaching are organized in five different modules, as summarized below.

MEDICINA LEGALE E BIOETICA
- criminal Law and Legal Medicine;
- patient-Clinician relationship;
- doctor-patient confidentiality;
- reporting medical information to the Prosecutor’s Office and to the Health Care Administration Italian government;
- insurances against work related injuries and professional diseases;
- introduction to Bioethics;
- methods in Bioethics;
- patient restraints;
- bioethical issues concerning the end of life.
SOCIOLOGIA DEI PROCESSI ECONOMICI E DEL LAVORO SANITARIO
- Introduction to Sociology;
- key concepts to describe labour markets and organizations;
- transition to work and employment socialization;
- how to search and find work.
ORGANIZZAZIONE DEI SERVIZI SANITARI
- historical evolution;
- current institutional and organizational framework of the National and Regional Healthcare Systems;
- the main contents of the Veneto Region's Social and Healthcare Plan.
MEDICINA DEL LAVORO
- general principles of occupational health
- national laws, rules and regulations on prevention, health and safety in the workplace;
- occupational health and safety professionals and institutions;
- occupational hazards and risks;
- risk assessment; health surveillance.
- occupational Health for health care workers;
- manual handling of materials and patients;
- biomechanical overload of limbs;
- return to work and rehabilitation.
