MED/46 - BIOTECHNOLOGY AND METHODS IN LABORATORY MEDICINE

Learning objectives

The Professional Laboratory is a prerequisite to professional training and is designed to provide all students the minimum skills and equal for all locations are essential to deal with it. Since, moreover, the possibility to the student to experiment with quiet activities before being inserted in the employment context.They are carried out in small groups throughout the academic year (I - II semester), under the guidance of tutors.

Prerequisites and basic notions

Principles of microbiology and knowledge of molecular techniques.

Program

The laboratory exercises involve the use of molecular biology techniques for the analysis of nucleic acids. After extraction, the nucleic acids will be subjected to a Relatime PCR reaction. Laboratory protocols and interpretation of results will be explained and discussed.
