Learning objectives

The student experiences and acquires the ability to:  ability to work with you and integrate into the team  manage reusable dental DM refurbishment and worksafety n safetys according to infection prevention principles in accordance with ergonomic principles  inform, involve and educate the person, family members or care-givers  evaluation and periodontal monitoring – assessment – objective examination of the oral cavity and interpretation of the collected data  assess a patient's tooth decay risk and periodontal risk  set up the patient prevention, treatment and maintenance plan in different age groups and in different clinical situations in different frameworks of systemic pathology  implement professional oral hygiene operational techniques  peer-educator activities with year 1 students

Prerequisites and basic notions

Passing the 1st year and 2nd year internship exam. Theoretical contents of the 1st year, 2nd year and 3rd year courses. Active participation in the internship preparation process and briefings. Active participation and experimentation in scheduled laboratory and exercise activities Passed the low and high risk safety course in the 1st year

ABILITY TO ENGAGE A PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH THE USER AND INTEGRATE INTO THE TEAM - Professional behavior (Student Code of Conduct - Consensus conference 2010) - SELF-LEARNING AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN YOUR OWN EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM - WORKING IN A TEAM AND IN THE STUDENT GROUP ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING A RELATIONSHIP COMMUNICATION TO ENSURE WELL-BEING AND COMFORT OF THE PATIENT (FAMILY) INFORM, INVOLVE AND EDUCATE THE PERSON, FAMILY MEMBERS OR CARE-GIVERS. Informative and educational interventions regarding: brushing techniques and types of toothbrushes/aids, oral hygiene products PERIODONTAL ASSESSMENT AND MONITORING - ASSESSMENT - OBJECTIVE EXAMINATION OF THE ORAL CAVITY - Collects data AND DOCUMENTS THEM IN THE PERIODONTAL RECORD, Performs objective examination, Interprets the data collected IMPLEMENT OPERATIONAL TECHNIQUES With respect to the following activities: o periodontal probing o mechanical instrumentation o manual instrumentation o topical application of medications o application of rubber dam o sealing of the sulcuses and pits o polishing of the dental elements (polishing and air-polishing) o sharpening of sharp instruments or control of cross infections
