Program
The lessons will be delivered in person and the material will be made available in the course Moodle. At the end of the course the student will know: 1) the assumptions and general criteria of the organization of the Department of Laboratory Medicine 2) the fundamental principles of laboratory methodologies in the pre-analytical phase (collection, treatment and conservation of samples), in the analytical phase (fundamental principles and implementation of the most important laboratory techniques), and in the post-analytical phase (collection, processing and reporting of data; interpretation of results, quality control). 3) the Organization of Laboratory Medicine Services, in the healthcare sector and within the Diagnostic Departments in Health Authorities 4) The role of the various healthcare professionals involved in the Departments of Laboratory Medicine

Learning assessment procedures
Oral exam in presence on all the topics of the program. The exam potentially concerns all the topics in the program delivered to the student at the beginning of the course.
Evaluation criteria
Knowledge of the topics covered in class and the level of depth of study of the topics are assessed. The final assessment is expressed in 30 and the exam is passed with a score equal to or greater than 18/30.
