Program

Course objectives:
- Provide an understanding of organizational change processes
- To develop skills for managing change within organisations
- To learn about change management tools and techniques applicable in different contexts
Contents:
- Introduction to change management: change in organizational contexts, models for the studying change, forces and resistances to change.
- Planning change at the organizational, group and individual levels: models and dynamics of organizational behaviour.
- Leadership, management and governance: Functions and activities for leading organizational change.
- Stakeholders: Identification, involvement, management and communication.
- Psychological elements underlying motivation and stress: job resources and demands, work design and redesign in change initiatives.
- Change project management: structuring and presenting change initiatives.

Didactic methods

The course includes interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies in the healthcare sector, and a final project work. Throughout the course, the sharing of ideas and the exploration of different perspectives will be encouraged, favoring the small group dimension as a context that can promote soft skills related to collaboration, problem solving, and effective team communication.

Learning assessment procedures

The final evaluation will be based on:
- Project work related to a change project in the healthcare context, carried out during the course.
- Written test consisting of a series of multiple-choice and short-answer questions.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

Final evaluation will be based on the following criteria, aiming to assess not only theoretical knowledge, but also the ability to apply this knowledge in practice and to work collaboratively in groups:
- Active participation in lectures and group discussions
- Theoretical knowledge about the fundamental concepts covered during the lectures
- Practical application, as part of the final project, of the knowledge and skills acquired during the course.
