CONTAMINATION LAB
The Contamination Lab Verona (CLab Verona) is an experiential course with modules on innovation and enterprise culture that offers the opportunity to work in teams with students from all areas to solve challenges set by companies and organisations.
Upon completion of a CLab, students will be entitled to receive 6 CFU (D- or F-type credits).

PLEASE NOTE: In order to be admitted to any teaching activities, including those of your choice, you must be enrolled in the academic year in which the activities in question are offered. Students who are about to graduate in the December and April sessions are therefore advised NOT to undertake extracurricular activities in the new academic year in which they are not enrolled, as these graduation sessions are valid for students enrolled in the previous academic year. Therefore, students who undertake an activity in an academic year in which they are not enrolled will not be granted CFU credits.

Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the knowledge of modern and contemporary Italian literature; present and analyze texts by Italian authors under a historical, critical and formal point of view.
Prerequisites and basic notions
The student is required to have an excellent knowledge of the Italian language and a basic knowledge of twentieth-century literary history
Program
Early 20th Century Poetry: from Pascoli to Montale
The course aims to examine the development of Italian poetry in the 19th century from Pascoli to the early Montale. The main literary exponents and poetic currents of the first half of the century (Crepuscolarism, Futurism, Hermeticism) will be presented, as well as the activity of the most important magazines active in the same historical period. Lessons include the reading and commentary of poetic texts and critical essays chosen as particularly representative of the topics addressed. The course will focus on:
- Pascoli and D'Annunzio: from tradition to European models
- The reaction to D'Annunzio: the crepuscolari
- Birth and representatives of futurism
- Before and after the World War: Sbarbaro, Saba, Campana
- Ungaretti and the Hermeticists
- Montale's poetry: Ossi di seppia
Bibliography
Didactic methods
Teaching will be delivered through lectures; students are also invited to participate through short presentations of texts agreed upon with the lecturer, and/or optional group activities to be carried out in the classroom.
Learning assessment procedures
The examination includes an oral test relating to the topics covered during the lectures.
Objectives: the student is required to have knowledge of the topics covered in the lessons and the reference bibliography. The aim of the test will be to demonstrate the ability to analyse the texts commented during the course and to discuss their historical and literary context with the appropriate tools, as well as the relevant critical bibliography.
Test content: The oral examination covers the entire course programme.
Non-attending students are required to consult the indications provided and the additional bibliography for exam preparation on the course's Moodle page.
Assessment methods: the student will be asked to comment on a text from among those examined in class and/or to explain an argument relating to the literary history of the 20th century. The study of the critical bibliography indicated for the preparation of the exam will be assessed during the oral exam.
Assessment method: the result is expressed in thirtieths.
Evaluation criteria
In the examination, the ability to expound on the topics covered in the lectures, comment on 20th century poetic texts and discuss the relevant critical bibliography is assessed.
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The result of the interview, expressed in thirtieths, determines the final grade.
