Previous studies: knowledge of ancient history at school level.
Subject of the course: The conquest of the Hellenistic world
Texts to be read: 1) Livius, Books XXXI, XXXII, XXXIII; (an edition with notes or commentary)
2) the passages that will be studied during the course
3) A. Momigliano, Manuale di storia romana, a cura di A. Mastrocinque, Torino, UTET, 2011.
An historical atlas is recommended.
Didactic method: normal lessons will be held, the discussed passages will be given (also in translation) to the students. Students who are unable to attend the lessons will find them in mp3 format, texts, and images on the e-learning platform of the University.
Module: II MODULO PARTE (P)

Previous studies: basical knowledge of Roman history and Greek and Latin language.
Subject of the course: Cultural topics of the Severan age
Texts to be read: 1) Philosptratus, Life of Apollonius of Tyana
2) the passages that will be studied during the course
Didactic method: normal lessons or seminars will be organized; the students will be provided with the passages (also in translation) which will be discussed. Students who are unable to attend the lessons will find them in mp3 format, texts, and images on the e-learning platform of the University.
