Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at teaching some important topics concerning the Roman Empire, and aspecially the tranformation of the Empire into the Christian Roman Empire.
Program
Previous studies: knowledge of Roman history and Latin language at a basical level.
Subject of the course: The period of Julian “the Apostate”.
Texts to be read:
1) Ammianus Marcellinus, Histories, books XX-XXIII;
2) Passages that will be discussed during the course
Didactic method: normal lessons will be held; the discussed passages and images will be given (also in translation) to the students in the internet site of the University of Verona, E-Learning. Students who are unable to attend the lessons will use mp3 records, texts, and images on the E-learning platform of the University.
