Learning objectives
The Workshop aims to develop critico-hermeneutical skills suitable for understanding the texts and topics examined and their implications; to develop conceptual clarity and terminological precision, as necessary tools in order to express critico-speculative capacity and to develop autonomy of thought; to develop the ability to communicate philosophical arguments to specialists and non-specialists.
Prerequisites and basic notions
No prerequisites.
Program
The meetings of the "Gnoseology and Metaphysics Workshop" involve all the members of the "Gnoseology and Metaphysics Research" Centre, as well as some internationally renowned "external guests", who, in turn, as speakers and discussants, will propose interventions relating to topics of common interest and relevant to the Centre's themes, addressed with a multi-perspective approach (theoretical, historical-philosophical and ethical), calling all participants to active discussion, in full harmony with the objectives of the departmental dissemination and public engagement.
The “Gnoseology and Metaphysics Laboratory” consists of a series of meetings for a total of 24 hours.
Didactic methods
Meetings with presentation of papers by speakers and subsequent discussion.
Learning assessment procedures
To verify the skills acquired, the Workshop requires the production of a paper on a topic chosen from those addressed. This paper, in which students have to demonstrate critico-argumentative skills and the application of analytical and hermeneutic skills, as well as autonomy of investigation, will then be sent to the teacher in charge of the Workshop and will be judged "suitable/unsuitable".
Evaluation criteria
Evaluation expressed as "suitable/unsuitable"
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The student must attend at least 20 hours out of the total 24 hours of the Workshop (in presence or via Zoom: see Guidelines communicated to participants and uploaded online on the Centre's website: https://sites.dsu.univr.it/rgm/). Only in this way can the essay be evaluated.
