Learning outcomes

An introduction to Spanish phonetics and phonology.

Program

The course intends to outline the phonetic and phonological systems of contemporary standard Spanish, as well as of its main varieties. The fundamental concepts of Spanish phonetics, exemplified in detail with transcriptions, as well as those elements emerging from a contrastive analysis between the Italian and the Spanish systems, will be examined.

Examination Methods

Assessment will be by written exam.

LINGUISTIC COMPETENCE REQUIRED
Level 3 (ALTE), B2 (Council of Europe).
Assessment of linguistic competence will be based on certificates issued by the CLA (the University Linguistic Centre) or by the Instituto Cervantes.
