Learning outcomes

This course introduces to some aspects of French literature from 1850 through the twentieth century.

Program

Per tappe selezionate, verrà proposto un itinerario attraverso la letteratura francese dal 1850 ai giorni nostri.
Si approfondiranno in particolare i seguenti argomenti:
la poesia di Paul Verlaine;
il pensiero e l’opera di Albert Camus;
il teatro di Bernard-Marie Koltès;
alcune tendenze della narrativa contemporanea.
Oltre alle pagine commentate durante il corso, si richiede la lettura integrale dei seguenti testi:
Gustave Flaubert, Madame Bovary oppure Joris-Karl Huysmans, A rebours;
André Gide, Les nourritures terrestres oppure Marcel Proust, Un amour de Swann;
Albert Camus, Le malentendu; L’étranger oppure La Chute;
Bernard-Marie Koltès, La nuit juste avant les forêts oppure Dans la solitude des champs de coton
Patrick Modiano, Dora Bruder oppure Jean Échenoz, Ravel
