Learning outcomes

The course intends to offer a panoramic view of German literature in the twentieth-century through the reading and the analysis of representative texts

Program

Dalla seconda metà del Settecento, quando il termine “Versuch” divenne centrale nelle scienze naturali, l’esperimento scientifico entrò in letteratura, ad esempio nell’opera di Goethe e di Novalis. Le rappresentazioni della prassi scientifica sono diffuse nella produzione letteraria del romanticismo e del realismo, tuttavia fu soprattutto nel xx secolo che l’esperimento scientifico ebbe nette ricadute epistemologiche sulla narrativa, sulla lirica, sulla drammaturgia e sulla saggistica in lingua tedesca. In quel periodo l’interfacing epistemologico fra esperimento e letteratura rese la produzione letteraria una sorta di laboratorio scientifico trasformando la letteratura in letteratura “sperimentale”.
