This course offers an introduction to linguistics as a cognitive science. Some of the core computational properties of human language will be discussed within a broad cognitive and semiotic perspective. Reference will be made to some of the most recent studies on language acquisition, as well as to some recent findings in the domain of language pathologies, from a psycho- and neurolinguistic perspective.
