Learning outcomes
In the workshop, students will learn to observe and critically analyze spaces, objects and practices in early childhood education services, connecting observation with knowledge on child development, educational models, professional cultures.
The module is focused on the practical implementation of some key issues that have already been examined during the course:
- implicit and explicit curriculum
- the relationship with families
- routines and care
- contexts and objects for exploration
- cultural differences
- gender stereotypes
Program
The students will be involved and facilitated in processes of critical analysis and discussion on ECEC contexts, models and practices. The main stimuli will be videos, pictures, meetings with key informants, fieldwork visits.
Examination Methods
Students will be evaluated basing on a project work concerning one of the workshop's topics.
