Program

The course deals with the topic of diversity along three lines: the cultural diversity represented by foreign citizens (media and immigration), the diversity of being children and adoptive parents (adoption as a life experience that thematizes the fundamental nodes of living in a complex society), the diversity of being a life sentence in a judicial and media system led to the creation of the "monster" (the case of the Biondino della Spider Rossa). These are issues that affect the fields of journalism, digital communication and publishing: because no one can be considered safe, or even exempt, from the confrontation with diversity; or by embodying some form of diversity.

INTERCULTURAL JOURNALISM
- Communication and information: the basic concepts for effective communication - Intercultural communication: intercultural education and pedagogy; concept of interculture; obstacles and opportunities for intercultural communication (stereotypes, prejudices, racism, ethnicity, identity and culture) - Intercultural journalism: theoretical, ethical and practical foundations in the editorial office and in the field - Adoption of minors: life experience, diversity of being parents and adopted children, expert analysis

INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM, CRIME JUSTICE AND MEDIA - The case of the Biondino della Spider Rossa - The construction of the "Bozano Monster" by the media - How the media represented crime and justice in the Sutter-Bozano case ( Genoa, May 1971) - The diversity represented by being a life sentence - Investigative Journalism and scientific research as tools to dismantle media constructions and one-way narratives
