Learning outcomes

Although it is shared by all the awareness of a long tradition of women with death, life, healing or disease, there are considerable difficulties in tracking the weight and the role of women who performed medical professions in antiquity.
The course "Women in Medicine" aims to analyze the difficult history of women since ancient times aspired to practice medicine until today where
the evolution of gender in medicine is now unstoppable, representing women between 60 and 70% of the total enrollment. But this requires a major cultural change, the identification and implementation of positive action to eliminate inequalities. and they must not forget training tailored * * as in many European countries to promote the frequency also of the specialties of surgical area traditional male prerogative, but where major changes are now taking place with the presence of the female gender rising

1. The presence of women in science during the past
2. The history of the "Mulieres Salernitanae" of the Salerno Medical School (900/1000)
3. The history of women's access to the university and particularly to medical faculties
4. The increase in women enrolled in Medicine in Italy in the course of 1900
5. Current Perspectives and Roles of Women in Medicine
