Learning outcomes
Acquiring knowledge about some of the most recent therapeutic procedures applied in the field of rehabilitation.
Program
The course will discuss some of the most recent therapeutic acquisitions in the field of neuromotor rehabilitation including the integration of pharmacological and rehabilitative treatments; Brain stimulation techniques and functional recovery prognosis.
Arguments concerning the integrated (pharmacological and rehabilitative) treatment of spasticity and the decision-making process underlying this type of therapeutic approach will be discussed.
Some of the main non-invasive brain stimulation techniques (TMS and tDCS) will be described, placing emphasis on the various stimulation modes and the scientific evidence produced in this regard.
Finally, the importance of prognostic indexes in neuromotor rehabilitation will be described with particular attention to the latest evidence in functional recovery and disability.
