Learning outcomes
The course is aimed at explaining to the students the ethical principles which should inspire their relationships with patients, colleagues, and professional community . The course will be focused at developing the ethical and deontological knowledge of the students in order to implement an autonomous and responsible professional acting suitable for adequately facing the numerous and different issues of the clinical practice.
Program
- Introduction to bioethics: the history of a new discipline
- Care relationship in a clinical setting: impact on daily practice of the historical changes.
- Bioethical principles: autonomy, justice, beneficence, and non-maleficence.
- Bioethical issues of the beginning of the life : assisted pregnancy; voluntary pregnancy interruption; severe pre-term infants.
- Bioethical issues of Restraint and Clinical Trials
- Bioethycal issues of the end of the Life: euthanasia, living will, advanced care planning.
Bibliography
Examination Methods
The assessment will be written or oral depending on the restrictions due to Covid 19 pandemia.
The final examination will be focused on the topics discussed during the lectures and the evaluation will be expressed as vote.
