INTRODUCTION
Bioethics: origins, features, fields of study and fundamental perspectives.
Care relationship: medical paternalism and informed consent-dissent models.

BIOETHICS AT THE BEGINNING OF LIFE
Voluntary interruption of pregnancy.
Medically assisted reproduction.

BIOETHICS AT THE END OF LIFE
Withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatment, euthanasia, assisted suicide.
Ethical principles and legal protection of self-determination at the end of life.
Advanced directives and advanced care planning.

Evaluation criteria

Adherence to the following points.
1) Basic knowledge of bioethical specific language and methods.
2) Knowledge of the most important bioethical perspectives applied to care relationship.
3) Understanding the specific language, fundamental features and bioethical debate’s basic dialectical dynamics with regard to beginning and end of life issues presented during lessons.
