L’insegnamento introduce lo studente alla comprensione dei determinanti di salute, dei fattori di rischio, delle strategie di prevenzione sia individuali che collettive e degli interventi volti a promuovere la sicurezza degli operatori sanitari e degli utenti. Si propone inoltre di far comprendere le cause, i meccanismi patogenetici, e le modalità di prevenzione e controllo delle malattie da infezione.
