The program will focus on the following topics:
The clinical psychology and health psychology in the healthcare setting
The tools of clinical psychology
Knowing how to do in the relationship: communication techniques in health
Knowing how to be in the relationship: Mindful practice and self-awareness
The biopsychosocial model and the patient-centered clinical approach
The impact of illness for patients, their family and caregiver
Emotions, personal resources, personality and health
Clinical psychology in the hospital setting and in chronic disease conditions

Clinical psychology in the different stages of life: children-adolescent, old age

Didactic methods
The lessons will take place mainly in frontal mode, with moments of discussion and brainstorming in plenary and small groups and exercises in pairs or small groups.
Learning assessment procedures
The written exam is made up of open questions with concise answers and exercises on communication strategies. The questions will be aimed at ascertaining knowledge of the main concepts, theories and models addressed during the module and at knowing how to connect the theoretical concepts to the contexts of healthcare practice.
The exam will focus on the slide material presented in class. The exercises on communication strategies will have a similar structure to the examples of exercises carried out in class.
Evaluation criteria
The score attributed to each question and exercise will be indicated in the exam itself. In the open questions the correctness, relevance, completeness and precision of the answer will be assessed.
The exam will last 1 hour.
The exam result is out of thirty with possible honors and is obtained from the sum of the scores obtained in each individual question/exercise. The exam is considered passed with a minimum score of 18/30.
The final grade will be calculated by applying the weighted average based on the value of the credits of the individual modules.
