Learning outcomes
The course aims to offer knowledge and methods useful for developing assessment skills and care treatment of acute situations of the cardio-thoracic and esophagostomach patient operated on.
Learning Outcomes
The teaching contributes to the achievement of the following learning outcomes:
recognize and activate the necessary interventions to manage acute and / or critical situations;
supervise and monitor the clinical situation of patients, identifying early signs of aggravation of the patient;
activate decision-making processes based on the patient's condition, the expected outcomes, the impact of the situation on the patient;
integrate nursing care into the multidisciplinary care project.
Program
Educational and rehabilitative care approach to the patient operated on in cardiac, thoracic and stomach esophagus surgery.
Care approach to the patient operated on in thoracic and cardiac surgery and esophagostomach .. Preoperative phase. Main surgical interventions. Notes on the intraoperative phase. Post-operative and rehabilitation phase.
The cardio-thoracic patient operated on day zero: head and foot examination and management of aids. Monitoring. Drugs in infusion and pharmacological compatibility. Notes on any hemodynamic support devices I(intra aortic ballon pump - IAPB- and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation - ECMO).
Post-operative phase; complications and care problems. Education and rehabilitation. Anticoagulant therapy
Management of the patient with blood transfusion.
Transfusion of blood and blood components: purposes, patient management during the various phases. Collaboration between nurse and doctor. Adverse reactions.
Management of chest drainage.
The drainage system with water valve. Thoracentesis.
