Learning objectives
The placement during the training course is the privileged and irreplaceable way to learn the professional role through active experimentation. The quality of the internship depends on the continuous interaction of the practical experience with theoretical reflection. Practical activity aims to: promote and integrate theoretical and practical knowledge; develop technical, educational and relational skills; promote direct knowledge of experiential areas, as well as critical reflection on the operational modalities observed.
Prerequisites and basic notions
Students who have regularly attended:
- theoretical activities, in particular the teachings of the professional disciplines of the current year and the previous year,
- professional laboratories are admitted to attend the internship experience scheduled for the course year.,considered preparatory to the internship.
Program
At the end of the year, the student develops the following clinical care skills:
- ADOPT BEHAVIORS IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE VALUES OF THE NURSING PROFESSION
- DEVELOP LEARNING ABILITY
- DEMONSTRATE COLLABORATIVE LEARNING ABILITY
- UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEMS OF THE CLIENT
- PROPOSE, EXECUTE AND RE-EVALUATE INTERVENTIONS ON THE ASSISTANT
- DEVELOP EFFECTIVE VERBAL AND NON-VERBAL COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Bibliography
Didactic methods
The professional internship includes:
• tutorial sessions that prepare the student for the experience
• exercises and simulations in which technical, relational and methodological skills are developed in a protected situation before and during experimentation in real contexts
• direct field experiences with supervision of a university clinical tutor and dedicated internship guides
• constant feedback
• didactic tasks, specific written papers and insights and guided study mandates
• Individual and/or group briefing and debriefing
• The preparation of one or more reflective diaries on the basis of the assessment of the student's training needs
• Extemporaneous tutoring (individual tutoring upon request of the student assigned during the internship guided by the internship contact person)
• “Clinical” tutoring characterized by direct accompaniment by the professional tutor, who constantly follows and personally in a specific department the student
• The discussion of clinical cases which can take place individually and/or in a group
Learning assessment procedures
Internship experiences are designed, evaluated and documented throughout the student's career. During each internship experience the student receives formative evaluations on his progress both through interviews and evaluation forms. At the end of the year, a summative (certification) evaluation is carried out to ascertain the levels achieved by the student in developing the expected professional skills. The evaluation is carried out by a Commission chaired by the Coordinator of Professional Teaching (CDP), and a teacher and a professional tutor. This evaluation is the synthesis of the training evaluations, gradually documented during the course year, the profit achieved in the written papers and the performance of the technical assistance and relational skills ultimately demonstrated in the internship exam carried out with station exams (OSCE ) simulated. The annual internship exam includes a single exam per academic year, except in particular situations for which the teaching commission may grant an extraordinary exam.
Evaluation criteria
The certification assessment takes place at the end of the academic year/clinical learning cycle. The weighted average of the three components, the final grade is made up of:
- The evaluation of the skills acquired during the internship: 65%
- The Mini-clinical evaluation exercise”: 10%
- The internship exam: 25%
Criteria for the composition of the final grade
The result is expressed in thirtieths (/30)

COMUNICAZIONE DEL PRESIDENTE DEL COLLEGIO DIDATTICO
Carissime Studentesse,
Carissimi Studenti,
Prof. Paolo F Fabene
