Program
Introduction to the Infectious Diseases class: course objectives, suggested textbook, examinations details.
Introduction to infectious diseases, epidemiology and way of transmission (current "hot topics", peculiar characteristics of infections, global issues). SARS-CoV2 infection (epidemiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, diagnosis, treatment and management). Antibiotics: principles of prescription and appropriate use; antibiotic stewardship. Antibiotic resistance and the role of healthcare workers.
HIV/AIDS and viral hepatitis in 2022. General aspects of infectious meningitis (bacterial and viral) and tuberculosis.
