Handle the patient by transferring him from one location to another, safely and in compliance with the principles of ergonomics.
Detect vital parameters and identify signs of alteration
Carry out a basic examination under the supervision and directions of the tutor: physical examination, functional activity (gestures), passive movements, active movements, sensitivity, muscle tone and muscle length.
Formulate hypotheses of functional alterations.
Identify physiotherapy problems and list them following order of priority with supervision
Apply the basic techniques for the maintenance of the ROM and the development of muscle strength, documenting in advance the presence of contraindications, proposing ways and times corresponding to the theoretical knowledge.

PREVENTION
Acquire and apply the hygiene and safety principles for the protection of health of the assisted persons and of professionals.
Comply with hygiene regulations to prevent infections during the tasks required on the patients in the attended training facility.

THERAPEUTIC EDUCATION
Get to know, observe, describe pedagogical strategies for an effective teaching to the patient (to the caregiver and to the family), based on the concept of motor learning and on methods to motivate the patient to follow the exercise program with the physiotherapist’s supervision.

Use, if needed, computer and information systems present in the internship locations.
Use the International Classification of Functioning (ICF) for the definition of a rehabilitation project.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of computer science, English and statistics, workshops/tutorial exercitations, modules of vocational teachers MED/48.

Program

The 1st year is aimed at providing the biological, biomedical, kinesiologic/biomechanical, neurophysiological, cognitive, hygienic - basic preventive essential knowledge, such as foundations of the discipline and professional methodology, fundamental requirements to address the first training experience aimed at orientating the student to the professional fields of reference and at the acquisition of basic skills through tutorial exercises that precede the experience.
