Learning outcomes
The student will improve knowledge of the pathophysiology of the neuro-musculoskeletal disorders including pain syndromes resulting from acute and chronic diseases, relevant in rehabilitation.
The student will acquire knowledge of functional assessment to identify neuro-musculoskeletal dysfunctions resulting in acute and chronic diseases related to recovery.
The student will be able to define the rehabilitative goals and understand the treatment plan of neuro-musculoskeletal disorders including the pain syndromes, in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Pathophysiology and classification of pain syndromes resulting from acute and chronic diseases: nociceptive pain, neuropathic and mixed pain.
Pathophysiology, assessment and guidelines for the treatment of lumbo-sacral pain syndromes (non-specific low back pain, low back sciatica, Failed Back Surgery Syndrome, Spondilolisi e spondilolistesi)
Myofascial pain syndrome and myofascial dysfunction: pathophysiology, evaluation and treatment in rehabilitation.
Compartimental regional pain syndromes and algodistrophy: pathophysiology, classification and guidelines for the rehabilitation treatment.
Carpal tunnel syndrome: pathophysiology, evaluation and principles of conservative treatment (physical therapy, orthotic, therapeutic exercise)
Guidelines for the management of patients suffering from osteoporosis: role of exercise and orthosis.
Scapular-humeral Pain syndromes: pathophysiology, clinical and instrumental diagnosis, evaluation and principles of rehabilitation.
Physical therapy application in clinical practice.
