Learning outcomes
Analyzing critically, from a historical and scientific point of view, the different theories of rehabilitation that led to different rehabilitation approaches. Know the principles behind the neurorehabilitation exam; correlate theoretical knowledge with the data that emerge from the observation and evaluation of the various functional systems of the patient. Know and know how to use the methodologies for the evaluation of the patient with neurological problems.
Knowing how to conduct physiotherapy evaluation and plan treatment in neurological diseases (eg Parkinson's disease, ALS, multiple sclerosis ...) by integrating specific therapeutic exercises with reflection on possible changes in environmental factors and on specific strategies of therapeutic education in persistent or degenerative situations . (Syllabus 18/19)
Program

From the "methodologies" to the problem solving approach
The ICF conceptual model and its application in clinical practice
Motor control, motor learning, motor recovery in clinical practice.
The main neurological dysfunctions and principles of assessment and treatment:
• Stroke
• Spinal cord injury
• Parkinsons disease
• Multiple Sclerosis
Main intervention strategies according to EBM and EBP with insights on:

Examination Methods
There will be three evaluation moments:
First step: preparation of an ongoing report on an intervention strategy with respect to a neurological or neurodegenerative pathology
Second step: processing of three videos, which will be suitably uploaded to the dashboard within the terms shared at the beginning of the lesson. Two videos will relate to neurological assessment, one video will relate to a treatment proposal.
Third step: production of a poster, elaborated in group, on a neurological / neurodegenerative pathology, defined in class.
