Learning outcomes

Learn physiotherapy's topic and treatment approach with cancer patients: settings, ethics and history into the oncological rehabilitation, common complications and local complications due to cancer or cancer treatments ( in particular in breast cancer, head and neck cancer, bone cancer)

Program

Cancer patient's description, common complications: fatigue, dyspnea, pain, cachexia.
Relevant tests and measures for functional status and to document symptoms that increase disability.
Palliative care and physiotherapist's role: types of exercise.
Aged cancer patients: theirs vulnerability and weakness.
Breast cancer: characteristic of surgery and functional complications, the exercise program after surgery and postmastectomy lymphedema (psychic and physical problems).
Head and neck cancer: characteristic of surgery, functional complications and physiotherapy treatment (breath complications, swallowing , speaking, difficulties in shoulder joint mobility). The characteristics of pipes.
Bone cancer: physiotherapy in osteosarcoma and multiple myeloma.
