Assessment and rehabilitation of disorders of speech therapy in developmental age (2020/2021)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
llustrate the different pathologies that can alter the voice, the fluency and the acquisition of language in the child; know how to plan and apply rehabilitative interventions in the tracheostomised child, who has a cochlear implant and trunk, with DSL or disfluency. LOGO MODULE OF DISORDERS OF VERBAL FLUENCE Training objectives: To provide students with criteria for framing speech problems related to childhood dysfunctions in order to improve the AWARENESS OF CLINICAL CHOICES and direct them towards evidence-based tools and therapeutic approaches. LOGOPEDIA MODULE OF SPECIFIC LANGUAGE DISORDERS Training objectives: To acquire the fundamental skills for the evaluation and speech therapy rehabilitation in delays and specific disorders of verbal language. Knowing how to write a speech therapy report, a project and a rehabilitation program. LOGOPEDIA MODULE OF ORAL FUNCTIONS AND RELATED DISORDERS OF INFANT CEREBRAL PARALYSIS Educational objectives: Knowledge: Theoretical aspects of the development of oral motor skills and swallowing in order to have a basis on which to carry out a specific and targeted assessment to highlight the difficulties swallowing. Anatomo-functional aspects of the different phases of swallowing diversifying them among the infant, child patient. The pathologies in which the eating disorder and the swallowing disorder can be found and what this can entail on the pediatric age patient. Learn to think about complex clinical pictures both from a diagnostic and rehabilitative point of view. Structuring of a specific rehabilitation project aimed at the individual patient. The most frequent rehabilitative techniques for pediatric dysphagia. Physiology of swallowing; Classification of the pedophagia Dysphagia in the pediatric age; Variability of swallowing development and its deviations; Oral vices; Skills: functional assessment of swallowing in developmental age: static and dynamic examination of the swallowing act (according to the age of the subject under examination and the underlying pathology). Objectives and rationale of speech therapy treatment with reference to the swallowing problem detected by the evaluation in the dysphagic child. Identify the fundamental elements in the assistance of the tracheostomised child Define the rehabilitative interventions for breathing, speech, swallowing, communication in the tracheostomised child. LOGOPEDIA MODULE AND DEVELOPMENT OF LANGUAGE IN CHILDREN WITH ACOUSTIC PROSTHESIS, COCHLEAR IMPLANTATION AND TRONCOENCEPHALIC PLANT Training objectives: Understanding the characteristics of hypo-acusic subjects according to hearing impairment and biopsical-social variables. Know the methods and purposes of the prosthetic correction. Know the methods for the speech and language assessment of language perception and development. Know the evaluation protocols for the different age groups. Know the pathways of evaluation and speech therapy treatment in hearing loss. Provide the specific skills required in the professional profile for the planning of the treatment of auditory deprivation, providing indications on the methods most accredited by EBM. Prerequisites: theoretical knowledge of anatomy and physiology of auditory pathways; theoretical knowledge of linguistics, acoustic and articulatory phonetics, acoustic physics. Expected results: the student must be able to achieve adequate skills in planning a specific assessment in the diagnostic pathway in the developmental age and in the cochlear implant selection pathway in pre-verbal and post-verbal hearing loss. The student must acquire a specific language that makes him capable of confrontation with other professionals, must achieve the ability to administer perceptual-verbal assessment tests and to calculate the communication profile.
