Learning outcomes

The course aims to critically educate the student:
- knowledge of the anatomical structures of the maxillofacial district and of the oral cavity, with particular reference to the stages of evolutionary development and the skills of the various organs of the district in the field of respiration, phonation, chewing, swallowing.
- recognition of skeletal normo-occlusion framework, identification of malooclusion frameworks, knowledge of the main etiopathogenetic mechanisms and functional and surgical interventions to correct them
- knowledge of the main guidelines in the field of surgical and rehabilitative treatment of the main pathologies of odontostomatological interest, with particular reference to the post-oncological rehabilitation field of the oral cavity

SKULL-MAXILLO-FACIAL ANATOMY
The skeletal structure of the facial massif with particular reference to the mandibular, maxillary, upper airway, oral cavity, pharynx anatomy.
THE MACROAREAS OF THE ORAL CABLE (outline of anatomy)
Lips, vestibules, dental arches, hard palate, soft palate, oropharynx, oral cavity floor, tongue, labial and lingual frenulum, major and minor salivary glands.
CRANIO-FACIAL GROWTH AND LABIOPALATOURANOSCHISI
Notes on craniofacial growth and palate formation
