The teaching is organized as follows:

Learning outcomes

Neurobiological, neurophysiological and neuroanatomical correlates of human cognitive functions.
Neurospychological and neuropathological evidence of cognitive function deficits as a result of focal cerebral lesions and neurological degenerative pathologies in particular psychiatric pathological signs.

Program

Human cognitive functions: learning, memory, motivation-emotions and intelligence. Cognitive neuroscience methods: brain imaging (fMRI, PET, TMS) and electrophysiological (EEG, ERP) techniques.
Organization of the central nervous system: structures, blood supply, nervous pathways, cranial nerves. Meaning and morfological organization of the autonomic nervous system and the sympathetic and parasymapthetic sections.
Functional-anatomical principles of the nervous systems as a basis to understand neurological signs and symptoms.
Major neuropsychological deficits of the cognitive functions (aphasia, agnosia, apraxia, amnesia). Physiopathology of the executive functions: frontal syndrome.
Normal and pathological cerebral aging.
Neurodegenerative diseases: dementias (Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases)
Cerebral vascular diseases: ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes
