Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to illustrate di technical characteristics of MRI imaging equipment, the parameters which contribute to the Magnetic Resonance Image, the most important clinical applications and the role of Magnetic Resonance Imaging in comparison with the other Diagnostic Imaging modalities
Program
- Imaging characteristics of MR
- Imaging parameters: T1 and T2 relaxation time, proton density, flow, chemical shift, magnetic susceptibility, BOLD effect, diffusion, spectroscopy
- MR devices: permanent magnet, resistive magnet, superconductive magnet (advantages and disadvantages). "Open" magnets and "dedicated" magnets.
- Clinical applications of MRI
