Laurea magistrale interateneo in Scienze dello sport e della prestazione fisica - Enrollment from 2025/2026

I Regolamenti dei corsi di laurea e di laurea magistrale di scienze motorie prevedono che gli studenti possano completare il proprio piano didattico, frequentando oltre agli insegnamenti obbligatori anche delle attività formative a scelta, per approfondire alcuni aspetti tematici o settori di interesse, in coerenza con il proprio percorso formativo.

Le attività formative a scelta di ambito D sono indicate all’interno del piano didattico del corso di studio prescelto, mentre le attività formative di ambito F sono individuate da una apposita commissione di docenti. Queste ultime attività possono essere conferenze, seminari, webinar, altro e vengono acquisite con una valutazione e non con un voto in trentesimi.

SPS/08 - SOCIOLOGY OF CULTURE AND COMMUNICATION

Learning outcomes

The course aims at analysing the main theories about communication and sociology of sport. In particular, it will examine globalisation, sport events and the historical aspects of “sportivization”.
At the end of the course students will be able to know the main sociological theories and the methods of social research on sport events. They will know also the tecniques of social research in order to analyse the tv sport audience and the relations among sport, sponsor and advertisement.

Examination Methods

The exam for non-attending students consists of a written paper, starting from the bibliography provided and available on the Moodle page. The type, format, and content will be decided by the teacher and by the student together. The student must contact the teacher as soon as possible, but at least 30 days before the date of the exam.
The exam for attending students consists of the collection (portfolio) of 3 different types of papers: a report of the readings and activities in class; an exercise on network analysis data; a final essay on the topic "Data Science and sport". The detailed procedures are explained in class and defined on a document available on Moodle.
