Learning outcomes

At the end of the course the student will be able to:
- correctly alert the Emergency Medical Service (SUEM 118, NUE 112);
- guarantee correct assistance to the patient while waiting for help;
- recognize the main medical and traumatic emergency situations that may occur in a dental practice, knowing for each of them etiology, pathophysiology, signs / symptoms and treatment;
- perform Basic Life Support: recognize the cardiocirculatory arrest, make high-quality chest compressions, perform ventilation mouth / mask, know the automated/semiautomated external defibrillator (AED), perform the safety lateral position, perform the maneuvers of unblocking the airway from a body stranger.

Program

DIDACTIC PROGRAM
1. Organization of the emergency health system: SUEM 118/NUE 112 and Emergency Department;
2. Evaluation of the critical patient;
3. Basic Life Support: cardiopulmonary resuscitation and airway disruption in the adult patient during the COVID-19 pandemy;
4. Medical Urgency: Syncope, Hypoglycemia, Convulsions, Stroke, Shock, Asthma, Anxiety crisis;
5. Traumatic urgencies: Burns, Wounds, Hemorrhages.
