KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
multidisciplinary knowledge aimed at the critical analysis of specific social problems
ABILITY TO APPLY KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
ability to analyze social and territorial determinants that can favor or hinder the effectiveness and efficiency of services.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES The laboratory is precisely oriented to treating, with particular attention to current events, the continuous changes involving social services. It is therefore proposed to address and deepen the emerging social problems both in the general social context and in the operational social-welfare and socio-health operational realities. The objective is to provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the interpretation and critical analysis of these problems, as well as to hypothesize and / or plan, also starting from the competences already in possession of the participants, intervention methods useful for dealing with and taking charge of such situations uncomfortable.
Program
In the academic year 2021/22, the Interdisciplinary Laboratory proposes, through a number of meetings with local realities in the city of Verona and other contexts, a reflection on the concept of "third spaces" in the light of the transformations brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. In particular, experiences will be presented, methods and ways of rethinking the spaces of services in the social, educational and care fields in the broadest sense will be analysed. We will enter into dialogue with associations that have experimented with participatory ways of interpreting and dealing with the material needs of everyday life; with women 'experts in experience' who have contributed to the activation of third spaces as places of conscientization, empowerment and reciprocity between services, users and local realities.
Workshop coordinators: Prof. Rosanna Cima, Prof. Maria Livia Alga.
The 6 lessons - being a workshop format - will be held in presence, on Saturday mornings from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the following dates: 23, 30 October; 13, 20, 27 November; 4 December 2021.
In each lesson there will be a presentation part, a group activity part and a final reflection on the experience.
There will be interventions by experts and privileged witnesses:
Houda Boukal, Sandra Faith Erhabor, Rosa Lovati, Elena Migliavacca; Maria Angela Prado Malca, Judith Mitchel, Alberto Modenese, Lahcen Ouftallah, Sara Khamlich, David Bosco.
In the lectures the following themes will be addressed
- Third spaces: which proximity? What distance? What circularity? What weaving of relationships?
- Rethinking the power of the professional role in the light of users' experiences/expertises
- Conflict as creative energy
- Deconstructing and reinventing relations between service/users: how to read and interact with the territorial associations?
Group experimentation with tools for analysing conflict situations in social services.
