Laurea magistrale in Linguistics - Enrollment from 2025/2026The final examination (MA Dissertation), worth 24 credits, focuses on topics related to the MA programme in Linguistics. Students may request a thesis topic after acquiring at least 50 credits during the two-year period.

The paper for the final exam should preferably be written in English. However, it may be written in Italian or in one of the foreign languages in which the areal linguistics courses are taught, subject to the approval of the thesis supervisor. The discussion must be conducted in English or Italian, even when the paper is written in a different language.

No more than 7 points may be awarded for the final exam. When the candidate has obtained the maximum mark, honors may be awarded provided that the decision is unanimous.
