Learning objectives

1) To know and understand the psychological theories that explain attitudes and behaviors of individuals and groups; 2) Know and understand the psychological theories that make against the fundamental processes of functioning and adaptation of the individual to the material and social environment; 3) To know and understand methods of research and measurement of psychological phenomena related to the individual, to interpersonal relationships and to groups; 4) Apply the theories on the functioning of individuals, groups and organizations to the analysis of phenomena of learning and of personal and social change. The specific aims of the corse are:providing students with the knowledge of the way the adult attachment style impacts interpersonal preceptions, expectations and behavior in the organizational social domain; providing students with the knowledge and understanding of (explicit) implict norms co-construction in organizational context, of the way variables of individual difference may exacerbate interpersonal relationships in formal/institutional or informal social contexts;providing students with knowledge and understanding of the relationship between empathic attitude and assertiveness, of teamworking processes related to workplace climat andthe leader/follower relationship.

Further materials in Italian, and scientific articles in English will be made available on the Moodle platform for all students. These materials will constitute material subject to examination regardless of whether they have been attending or not, together with the supporting material, eg. the slides used in class and also made available on Moodle.

Didactic methods

The course will be exclusively in person, using both frontal teaching and classroom exercises.

All students must register on the Moodle platform of the course, which will be the main communication channel of the course and where all the resources used in class can be found.


Possible changes will be assessed according to the trend of the national health situation.

Learning assessment procedures

The exam will be in written form and will include both multiple choice questions and open-ended questions (max 32 points). During the course, for those who wish, it will be possible to participate in individual and / or collaborative activities which, following a positive evaluation, will give as recognition up to a maximum of 3 points, which will be added to the mark of the written test, only in case of achievement of sufficiency (18/32).

Further information and specifications on both the activities and the exam will be communicated both in class and on the Moodle page of the course.

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

• Closed questions do NOT have penalties for wrong answers.

• The points of the optional activities will be added to the final score only if the written test is sufficient, or a grade equal to or higher than 18;
• In case of failure of the exam or of renouncing the grade obtained, the extra points obtained will NOT be lost, but will be kept until the last exam session of the academic year. 2022/2023;
• At the discretion of the professor, it will be possible to request an oral exam to the student.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final exam will consist of a written test with:
• 20 closed questions (1 point for each correct answer);
• 4 open short questions assessable from 0 to 3 points;
Participation in the individual activity will make it possible to acquire n. 1 extra point, which will be added to the score obtained in the written test;

Participation in the collaborative activity will make it possible to acquire up to n. 2 extra points, which will be added to the score obtained in the written test.
