Learning outcomes
The course provides students with the basic concepts of learning models, fostering a critical understanding and evaluation of each issue.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Outline the systematics in conducting learning groups (collaborative and cooperative model)
• Outline criteria that support effective learning and ineffective learning (integrate knowledge and themes; broaden cognitive schemes)
• Outline criteria of andragogy (Piaget and Vygotsky's learning models, fluid intelligence and crystalline intelligence)
• Outline the dynamics of the group and the roles of maintaining the group
• Outline influencing factors that affect the development of the role, status, norms and climate in a group
• Outline the development phases of the group respecting for each phase the socio-emotional area and the area of the task to be performed
• Outline the development of the conflict and the analysis of the conflict
• Outline the relational and psychosocial components of groups
• Outline small group learning methodologies: Problem Based Learning, case method, role playing, simulated patient
• Outline and analyze medical humanieties and the learning of interpersonal and care skills
• Outline the focus group methodology
Program
The course will deal with the following topics:
• Collaborative and cooperative working groups: distinction and connection
• Piaget's theory and Vygotsky's theory for andragogy
• The role, status, norms and climate in a group
• Roger Mucchielli's scheme of authority
• The development stages of the group and management at each stage
• Group analysis respecting the aspects of: group management, level of commitment, group climate, level of performance, working methods, organization, criticism, creativity, collaboration with other groups
• Conflict development and management
• The defense mechanisms of group members and management
• Problem Based Learning, case, method, role playing, simulated patient
Teaching methods:
Classroom meetings involve the use of lectures (with slides), video analysis, group discussions, and individual and group reflections.
Examination Methods
Method of examination
Exam access requirement: Students develop a "portfolio" by writing a reflection on the topic that has been dealt with after each lesson.
Characteristics of the exam:
The objective of the exam is to verify the level of achievement of the previously indicated training objectives.
The written exam consists of an oral exam
Sample questions are presented during the lessons.
The portfolio assessment is part of the final grade
