Learning objectives
The course aims to introduce students to basic knowledge of computer science such as: the architecture of a computer, the operating system and application software, providing better knowledge of terminology and some of the most commonly used IT tools.

• Introduction to informatic systems.
• The hardware infrastructures.
• The operative system.
• The software applications.
• Web applications for the research of biomedical evidences (Exercises in PubMed)

Frontal teaching and disciplinary laboratory exercises.
Obligatory attendance.
The students in isolation and/or quarantine for COVID-19 are allowed the access to lessons via ZOOM (in synchronous mode), after sending the form to self-certify their positivity.
Learning assessment procedures
The exam consists of written test with multiple choice questions.
The exam has a duration of 30 minutes.
Evaluation criteria
The exam is aimed to verify the degree of learning of the student on the course topics.
Each question will be associated with a score (reported in the text of the exam)
The maximum score achievable is 32 points.
To pass the course the student must obtain a minimum score of 18 points.
The final grade corresponds to the sum of the scores obtained for each question up to a maximum of 30. In order to obtain the grade of excellence (30 cum laude) the student must have answered correctly and comprehensively all the questions proposed (32 points).
