Learning outcomes

To develop awareness and a critical attitude towards the mathematical notions. To give meaning to the fundamental notions, analyzing the problems that they intend to tackle.

Program

The problem of defining in mathematics. Sets. Relations and Functions. Infinite Sets. The notion of Calculus System. Natural numbers and induction. Integers and rational numbers. Real and hyperreal numbers. Structures and formal language. Ordinals and cardinals.

Examination Methods

Written exam with open questions and possibly and oral follow up.
