Learning outcomes
Elective course on multimodal treatment of pancreatic tumors
The aim of this course is to introduce students to the concept of multidisciplinary care in the field of solid tumors. Multidisciplinary care involves a tailored patient management based upon shared decisions among different physicians (surgeon, gastroenterologist, endoscopist, oncologist, radiation oncologist, radiologist), who have a recognized expertise an a mutual interest in a given clinical/surgical area. The model for this course will be the management of individuals with pancreatic tumors, within the routinary activity of the Verona Pancreas Institute. Students will attend one/two lectures on pancreatic tumors, and will have the chance to attend different multidisciplinary meetings, including the Pancreas Institute MDM (thursday, 14:00), the Oncologic group MDM (Monday 16:30), the Pancreas Round (Thursday 12:00), the pancreatic cysts MDM (variable days, 18:00), the neuroendocrine tumors MDM (Wednesday 14:30, biweekly).
