Learning outcomes
The teaching of History of the Italian language (p) aims to improve the knowledge related to literary Italian through the reading and analysis of poetic texts appropriately chosen by the authors who, through their works, have contributed to the formation and evolution of the Italian language.
The aim of the course is also to start the student to recognize the main linguistic, stylistic and metric institutes and the relative traits of continuity and discontinuity in the Italian literary language from its origins to the contemporary.
At the end of the course the student is supposed to demonstrate abilities in interpretation of a literary text autonomously by means of the study and analysis methodologies considered more appropriate from time to time.
Program
Literary Italian’s study and analysis methodologies’ acquisition will be improved by reading remarkable literary texts of XVI-XXIth centuries. Notable poets an topicsin XVI-XXIth centuries: Giovanni Della Casa and XVIth century Petrarchism; Classicism and Romanticism (Foscolo, Manzoni, Leopardi); towards the XXth century (Pascoli, d’Annunzio); Montale; the XXth century’s second poetic generation (Sereni, Fortini, Caproni); XXIth century’s poets (De Angelis, Magrelli).
Erasmus students are supposed to contact the teacher in order to fix syllabus and examination.

Examination Methods
Oral examination: reading, analysis adn interpretation of literary texts studied during the course.
In order to pass the examination students are supposed to demonstrate their knowledge concerning history of Italian language (XVI-XXIth centuries) and their abilities on interpreting literary texts.
Erasmus students are supposed to contact the teacher in order to fix syllabus and examination.
