Learning outcomes

------------------------
MM: Teoria
------------------------
The course aims to provide the student with the knowledge and tools necessary for the application of the latest molecular technologies for assisted evolution of the vine. Basic knowledge will be provided for the study of gene expression, its regulation and the biological role of gravine genes. The tools necessary for the interpretation of the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of the plant and its responses to the environment will be illustrated. The student will hang on the importance of knowledge of the genome, of the function of the genes contained in it and of the progress that has occurred in the biotechnological field in recent years. The main stages of plant biotechnology will be illustrated, including in vitro cell cultures, protoplast isolation, plant regeneration by somatic embryogenesis, genetic transformation and genome editing. Particular emphasis will be given to the possible applications of these new technologies for the development of a modern viticulture able to respond more quickly and effectively to the stresses to which the plant is subjected.
------------------------
MM: Laboratorio
------------------------
The main objectives of the laboratory experience are: learning the main steps of the regeneration procedures of vine plants from single cells and related critical issues, knowledge of the main transformation protocols of vine cells with genes of interest and the procedures to conduct a molecular analysis on lives in order to study gene expression.

Program

Examination Methods

------------------------
MM: Teoria
------------------------
Learning will be assessed by an oral exam for both attending and non-attending students. The aim of the test is to ascertain the extend and the deepness of the the knowledge of the topics covered in the program. The final assessment is expressed in thirtieths
------------------------
MM: Laboratorio
------------------------
A laboratory experience report will be requested and evaluated for the final grade

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE
