Health and safety promotion (2021/2022)
The teaching is organized as follows:
Learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with the basic tools and methodologies to understand the concepts and the areas of application of the prevention of infectious and chronic-degenerative diseases, the measures to contain infectious risk, the radiation protection standards and the bases of first aid to protect the assisted person and health professionals Another objective of the course is to deepen knowledge of the main learning models and in particular of learning from experience. EDUCATIONAL MEDOTOLOGIES AND TUTORIAL MODULE Training objectives: The course aims to promote the development of knowledge with respect to the main learning models and in particular learning from experience (theoretical models and methodological implications); the development of knowledge and skills in the management of tutorship. EPIDEMIOLOGICAL METHODOLOGY AND APPLIED HYGIENE MODULE Training objectives: The course introduces the student to the understanding of health determinants, risk factors, individual and collective prevention strategies and interventions aimed at promoting the safety of health workers and users. It is also proposed to understand the causes, the pathogenetic mechanisms, and the methods of prevention and control of diseases from infection and of the main chronic-degenerative diseases such as outcomes of lifestyles. FIRST AID MODULE Training objectives: Describe the meaning of First Aid and the actions to be taken to protect the injured and the rescuer. Knowing how to recognize altered vital functions and identify the first intervention maneuvers to manage the free interval of an emergency event. Knowing how to work with rescuers during an emergency intervention. Perform Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques on dummy, respecting the sequence and recognizing the theoretical rationale. MODULE OF PROMOTION OF HEALTH AND SAFETY IN ASSISTANCE CONTEXTS Training objectives: Infectious risk in care contexts: infections related to care processes. Measures to contain infectious risk: standard precautions and additional precautions for the prevention of transmission of pathogenic microorganisms. The management of some user assistance situations. MODULE SAFETY IN WORK AND RADIOPROTECTION ENVIRONMENTS Training objectives: The aim of this module is to allow students at the end of the course using the knowledge of physics and biology to know and understand the radiation protection standards based on the relevant legal provisions. The units of measurement of radiation, the measuring instruments on radiation protection of workers, the procedures to avoid external exposure and internal contamination, the biological effects of ionizing radiation, the application of radio protection in the environment and in places of work."
