Learning objectives

The course aims to analyse the statutory regulation of the tourism, with attention also to the European and international regulations. At the end, the student has to demonstrate to know the different regulations and to be able to explain them in an appropriate language.

Basic notions of public law (the concepts of which will be taught in the first lessons)

Program

The course aims to offer students the essential knowledge of internal, euro-unit and international legislation in the field of tourism, focusing on the rules and institutions that, from a public and private law perspective, constitute the essential foundations and evolutionary lines. In summary: 1. Tourism in the Constitution. 2. System of sources and legislative competences in the tourism sector. 3. Administrative skills in the tourism sector. 4. Between public and private: tourism law as an interdisciplinary law. 5. The accommodation facilities. 6. Travel and tourism agencies. 7. The tourism professions. 8. The farmhouse. 9. Thermal tourism. 10. The reservation. 11. Hospitality contracts. 12. Tourist rentals. 13. Organized tourism contracts. 14. The protection of the tourist's rights: alternative dispute resolution methods.

Didactic methods

The course is structured in face-to-face lectures. For attending students, the preparation can be based on lecture notes and materials provided by the teachers and uploaded to the teaching moodle. For non-attending students (and for those who also want to have a reference text) the preparation is based on the text indicated in the Bibliography (Leganto) limited to the following chapters: I, II, III, IV, VII, VIII, IX, X , XI, XII, XIV, XV, XVI, XIX

Learning assessment procedures

The exam takes place in oral form

Students with disabilities or specific learning disorders (SLD), who intend to request the adaptation of the exam, must follow the instructions given HERE

Evaluation criteria

The evaluation will take place according to the following criteria: - the depth and breadth of the acquired knowledge; - the ability to link concepts and institutes; - the property of language; - analytical and argumentative ability.

Criteria for the composition of the final grade

The final evaluation is expressed out of thirty.
